Pukar, Bacardi Blast, Vengaboyz - My Music began..

Its been pretty long the movie - PUKAR has been released now. I was in my first year of Engineering @ Bits in the H-Wing of Vyas Bhawan, Pilani. I was in Room no. 401 with subba and Sirish was in 404 with mruthyu. 403 had Srinivas and pros i believe (but i totally forgot now)... It was in 2000, those days this lovely filmy music was being played by Sirish in his Tape Recorder (i think biggie philips) that he got from his brothers friends who were in MAL bhavan (the then psenti semites bhavan.. i still continue to guess)... Those were the days of Pentium II processor or at max. a year before Pentium III 900MHz processor. IPC (Information processing center) @ Bits had only those black and white telnet machines which dont have the Windows key on them.. No computers in hostel rooms them. Listening to music was one of the favourite all time "Hobby" quoted to the seniors during the ragging sessions by most people... but what was the mode of listening to them those days was a Tape-recorder. I was in 404 and listening to Pukar music by A.R. Rahman has taken all of me to throw away my books and close my eyes, listen to the tunes... Rajasthan, its so hot in that summer... Finish our lunch, come to 404, listen to the pukar music... thats like a huge satisfaction atleast to me.. i hv become an all-time favourite since then. While, i moved to Shankar bhavan the sub-sequent year 2001, i bought a tape-recorder one for myself for Rs. 500/- (a local made, pilani brand) from the market. It was then i played pukar and the music just eased me off.. i feel so lite, walk along the lines of the lyrics.. its so nice... Especially after your lunch when its real hot outside, and you are in your room lying on your bed.. closed eyes... wanting to listen to nice music, while heading to sleep, ofcourse bunking the classes :) Days passed and i got more "Casettes" from sirish... While listening to songs in his room, i bought - Bacardi Blast casette from the Mittals shop in Cannaught place (shopping place)... I listend to both sides of the Cassette in my tape recorder playing the loud volumes - Disturbing my backiee (a jr.) That was the first album i listened to in english. I then bought Venga Boyz as it was a more pumping music that i heard in GYM @ Bits. I then bought a cassette from Subba @ New wing Vyas.. he was an ardent telugu songs picker... Preiminchukundam-Ra... was what i got from him then.. finally the end of my second year, i sold off my tape-recorder in second-hand to my loundry vala for 100 Rs after he insisted selling mine for him :) Later, music took a new dimension in me, with computers in the hostel rooms while i was in budh bhavan 3rd year with P-III and 40GB HDD... Even now, while i play on my Creative Zen, i still love to listen to the same old pukar songs...
