Modern Art @ My Cube Board in Office

         Its Precious, Its costly, Its worth millions of dollars... its was once called - "Pre-historic Ultra-modern unlearnable art" by one of my collegues at work... No matter what state your mind is in, all you have is a Sketch pen and a white board... Show your frustration on it.. Analyse it if it becomes an art.. name it modern art... thats all i do.. and they get selled for millions of dollars on e-bay... well truth apart, its one of the best way for you to relax yourself when you are stressed up at work... I didnt get chance to blog about the original ones i had made while look at the language builds of Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and korean.. This time, i drove one while working on a weekend to catch up deadlines and the other one while running NetIO/Atom !!

   Thanks to every one for all the support for making all this happen !!

Email Providers @ War ...

                     Gone were those days when people used to say - Hey i have my email id created in rediff. Sounds too old to you now is it?? yeh.. When i was in my class 12, i know only two or three popular email providers.. one is rediff.com which provides 2Mb, Hotmail.com which provides 1MB, yahoo.com which provides 5mb space... Google has really knocked it all infact by introducing gmail.com... Providing 1GB email space... Infact they started a counter increasing every day saying - we are increasing our email space day by day... we are 2.6 GB+ increasing day by day... Lots of people liked the gmail user interface for sending emails.. emails are threaded.. and single click interface. Hard Usable but people learnt to use. Meanwhile, all those old yahoo email users were happy for yahoo increasing their user email space to 500MB and then slowly they have now increased it to 1GB. On the otherside, hotmail users where given 10MB increase from their traditional 2MB limit. Days passed and they were providing 500MB and now 1GB.. on par to yahoo.. Now what happened to Rediff... People have almost deprived of using it.. and they were successful migrating from there.. However, will their revised strategy of "Unlimited Storage" help them get to the limit the other counter-parts have reached ?? a Big question.

                      If you are an ardent lover of sending emails in your local language - say Tamil, Telugu, hindi, punjabi, marathi etc... I loved this in new rediffmail.com... You can see an inbuilt language translator that translates on the fly your messages.. pretty cool...

                    If you know English and you want to impress your GF (if she is from other language), or write a written letter to your friend whose mother tongue is different from what you know.. this is the best tool available for you...

You cant beat him in using the word - F**k

        The four letter word - F**K is treated to be most nasty words if used in india, but if you go to US.. you will find it pretty often used. I have infact saw a video with one of my friend on usage of this word in various verbs... He expalins what each implies according to the usage... However, we indians dont count to use it unless required behind the scenes of the person whom you want to abuse.. If you are an ardent lover of rock music (doesnt matter if you are not though).. listen to this song from the album - Limp Bizkit... count the number of times the singer uses the word F**K... i am sure you cant count... Download the song...

How to spend your week-end!!

        There are a variety of people among us like people who are students, Govt employees, Software engineers, doctors, bus drivers, shop owners etc. Every one has a variety of life... In my post i am going to talk about how nice it would be to spend a week-end in a feel-so-happy manner for a software professional who works 5 days a week. A friday evening is a beginning of a week-end.. so leave your office early..

• A week-end is meant for relaxing and refreshing for you to energise for the coming week. So dont miss to have a sound sleep... a nice lunch which is different from your regular office lunch...
• Almost all of us are either away from parents or relatives. Those of you who are away from their parents dont forget to call them atleast thrice in a week and ensure that you understand to be close to them. Your mom or dad might have 100 problems, you be the one who can share their problems and make them feel relaxed, take out the ease from them. A lot of health problems come-in when you become old... never leave your parents left out.. they are looking for you.. they are missing you... Relatives and friends is the other side of it. You dont take anything from this world, when you die... thats the famous quote. Ensure that you call up the beloved relatives and find out how they are doing.. keep in touch.. There is no harm in talking to them about how they are doing, if they need any help. Be cautious about the relatives who look for you only because you are earning and they have an eye on what are you doing with your money, how much are you earning.. be careful.. friends.. be it your school friends, college friends, collegues at work or your ex roommates.. never give up any one just becuase you claim to say - "i am busy now a days"... call them up and talk to them.. you would come to know about a lot of things hearing from someone who is working like you. Always keep in touch.
• If you are married, ensure that you spend your time completely with your better half taking him/her outside... for an ice-cream after dinner... for a walk after dinner... for a happy lunch at good restaurant.. going out for a movie... etc. Try to spend sometime together at home and talk a lot !! :)
• Going out for shopping.. For most of us, we forget one small fact. An individual working in an industry is firstly acknowledged with the appearance and the dressing of the person. Never think to spend money on the basic things that you need for your every days life like... do i need this t-shirt, do i need this jeans.. yes take it if you like it... you are earning enough.. if you are not earning enough then rethink but appearance makes some one like you more.. however if your heart is not neat then its tough anyways. Shoe, Perfume, Belt, Wrist Watch, Face creams, Nice clothes, Things to keep at home, a good bed sheet, nice pillow cover and pillow itself..  a lot more.. dont think otherwise about your basic things.. you need it you are working for it.. you are earning go for it... Fill your wardrobe with some decent good collection.
• Completing all the home related work... say a water bill, electricity bill, bike/car servicing, clothes ironing, telephone bill, groceries for cooking for the next week, vegetables, kitchen stuff, cleaning home, cleaning refrigerator etc. Get your home ready for the next week or some next month...
• Meeting your friends or relatives or attending functions / gatherings... it relaxes you from meeting someone whom you think is close to you.. its refreshing...
• Few.. not always but sometimes you can plan for an outing with your family ... or if you are bachelor you can plan to go out on a trip with your other friends... say a water theme park, a resort, a trek, an adventure trip... you will have some nice time.. make it just one day and leave the other for relaxing... never plan for a two day trip.. you will be tired for the rest of the week...

Other than these you can do a lot more but you will need to do some of these without forgeting... it making your life more meaningful and you will feel a lot relaxed.. you will feel life is going good.. otherwise you will feel at some cornor you are left out...

Dreams dont work, Miracles dont happen !!

              Its good to dream about something... but never take it close to your heart, especially when you know it wont come true. Well certain things you know, you want to try hard to get it.. its very important for you... keep trying hard because u know you want it badly.. its your future.. its how you want your life to be... At some point due to some reasons, you will be told that its not yours... its bitter for you.. you dreamt of it.. you really wanted it badly... you dont have it any more... reasons are silly... but sound valid.. options are little... time limits you for trying again, you cant try for something again and again for life long... you need to make a decision... your heart says you want it but your mind says the reality is bitter... both conflict.. we expect - "Some miracle to happen" and make your dream come true.. even at the dieing situation you want miracle to happen and make your dream come true.. but the reality is miracles dont happen.. its we who have to make decisions, go step by step.....its we who want to do it... if you see you wont get what you want in whatever way you look at it, you dont have an option. Never give up attitude also comes to an end when certain things bound you by actions....Ultimately you will be a looser... good for some reason, bad for many reasons... every one in this world is a looser in something or the other... reading my post, even you are the looser... you lost the precious time that you could have spent on something really useful for your life... but this is life.. Every one is a looser and winner... Make your decision, never expect miracles to happen... never expect dreams to come true without putting effort to make it come true.. Dont move forward to tomorrow without planning for what you want to do in next 10 days.. what you want to do in next 1 year...

Betting on World Cup Cricket !!

Betting with Charles has been real fun from the day we sat in Transit Forum mall - for an informal lunch and an unplanned lunch with the team... charles Antao.. A great buddy and cool chap... a try hard TT player .. :-p His mind was flickering from the day when he sat and told - New-zealand will win the semifinals and i challenged him that Srilanka will win the semi-finals... It so happened that Srilanks managed to hit a massive 289 with jayawardane playing captains inning hitting a superb century.. We all know that New-zealanders dont have the courage to stand-by for lankan superb bowling lineup including Malinga, muthiah, vaas, fernando, dilshan, jayasurya... huh.. they are strong for sure.. They had an easy win and charles lost to me for betting 50 Bucks..

 

      This time its second semi-finals.. and charles wanted to regain his 50 bucks.. he now bets agains South Africans doubling his bet to 100 bucks.. No doubt SA has a good team but they are definately not stronger than aussies... I couldnt stop my happiness when SA were 24/5 :) Finally SA were bowled out for 149.. it was a cake walk for the world champions to chase..

  Finals... He doubles his bet again.. its 200 bucks.. and yes you guess it right.. charles now again bets on the team who are most likely to loose.. Srilanka...  i do partially agree with him but lankans dont have the strong batting line up like aussies.. aussies are masters in both bowling and batting from top to bottom... which strengthens my bet... lets wait and see what happens today !!...

No Background Music in real life...

                  I have been observing on this for past couple of years... Every one of us watch movies... At the end of every movie we will say either - "Its a good movie" or "Its so boring and sick movie".... However, even if you take a screwed up movie the director of the movie would have some meaning in his mind to convey to the audience watching them... Its all that on which he would build his movie... Assume, you go to a movie where the story-line matches your personal life at some point (not all movies.. you should be lucky... some do..and match some portion of your past)... What is different in movies as compared to how we move in real life.. Take a sample instance like -

               "A kid studying very hard for his board exams... Day and night he concentrates on his subjects.. He doesnt spend time going out to relatives, freaking out with friends outside,  He doesnt attend family gatherings also, all he does is goes to college, then to a coaching center and come back home..All that is there in the mind of that kid is - This is the only chance I have to prove myself and get a great score for getting admission to the best college people talk about, this year should decide about my future career - after coming back home from study he wants to try more problems to see if there is anything missing for him to NOT loose even a single mark... Finally the D'day has come... Kid goes to the exam centre to give his exam... Lots of people are already in the examination centre waiting for the doors to open... For some other students, parents bring their kid in cars, bikes to the exam centre... But this kid goes all alone to the exam centre and uses a public transport, not that he doesnt have a family just that he doesnt want to trouble any one and he feels he is matured to handle things on his own.. Its very obvious... such a book worm will definately answer all the questions well... results are out.. and he gets his top mark as always"....  hmm.. if you are reading this probably you might have gone through some of it in your life also... well bravo, you did it great..

              So whats the difference? If you ask a movie director to direct this story into a movie... there will be a variety of background music at various instances of the kid trying to study, D'day, writing exam, results day, top announcement, admission to top notch college for higher studies... At each stage it will be so pleasing, so lively.... you actually start feeling it... But if you are the KID, then you would miss a lot of it... If you look back, you can watch the same movie again and again and feel so happy, but you cant relook at the life you spent which never had a background music for you to realise what you gained, what you lost... you know you will feel it but you wont have the same impact that a movie with the same story would leave on you....

                That was just a sample example of a kid.. there are lot more instances that go with your everyday life starting from waking up early in the morning (no background music), brushing (no background music), getting ready to school or office (no background music), instances happening @ work or @ school (no background music), you travel back to home (no background music), you come home and have your dinner with your sweet family (no background music), you go to bed (no background music), you start dreaming (no background music).. some one walks-in to your life(no background music), some one leaves-out of your life(no background music)... a lot more but i dont want to write a novel here :)

                All i wanted to convey is, DONT miss the minute you are living for... Realise that there is no one who is shooting you for a movie... and definately you know that there is no background music.. never loose on a minute that you spend as a memorable one...even the minutest of the things...If i have to re-create the world, may be i would think of background music in real-life.. hehe... funny but sometimes we miss our real feelings without it in place...

               And yes i know for sure, humans make movies and humans shouldnt be stupid to expect a background music for their real life.. its just that we should feel at that moment our reaction to an incident needs you to no miss the moment from your mind... always be happy... God bless...

Notting Hill - London..

    

                       Wondering if i am writing it so late though this fantastic movie got released long back... Well, exactly jobless for the moment and happy to write...i am sure you would have loved watching it too those days... i happened to catch up with my mac laptop showing me NottingHill after a fantastic Chicken Biryani and Roasted Chicken from Nandini, on a saturday afternoon when you dont have anything much to do... when the weather is so pleasent outside.. it poured heavily last day, the film i loved among one of the most... For those who dont know what it is - "Notting hill is about a simple guy who runs a book store in notting hill, a place in London... He falls in love with the most beautiful women actress who earns 15m$ for just one film... She is in Notting Hill, shooting her film... accidentally while walkling on the street he does a head-on-collision with Anna Scott (julia).. anna spills all the liquid juice on her t-shirt.. visits this guys place to clean up... impressed with the guy... it goes on... Both of them have acted so well, its a clean and neat film... would love to watch again and again... if you have missed it in dont forget to do - anything to watch this number...

Stars move out from CT Universe... !!

It all started with 6 names - Shubha, Avinash, Sudharshan, Sritama, Arun and later Freddy... people in my team...

                              Shubha started her departure first after the release of hunter... She went to US along with his hubby and cutie kid... shubha never wanted to hear anything against US... !! :)

   Something ignited in the management side and they thought of killing JRun application server and start developing more on CPS (Contribute publishing server)... JRun team was told - we are done with the development, lets move with CPS.. sudharshan was already working on python scripts written by sarabjit !! (guess so)... Suresh now has two arms extended to cover CPS 2.0 and Contribute CS3 release.. Sudharshan is set fire this time... something excited him... java and stuff... he moved to CPS Team though in same office.. but one more star fell down for Contribute team...

CS3 release cycle had seen Sritama contributing too.. "hey bug u cant miss me".. !! :) Sritamas and souviks silent plans to move to noida started then and she expressed her willing-ness to move to noida to bring back her kid (from calcutta)... Now the big madam is in noida along souvik and his in-laws... Sweet news is she bought her kid back to noida... kid is going to play-school (pre-nursery)... morning 9 to 12 noon.. then in-laws will take care of her... Good thing is she leaves office at 6pm every day no matter whatsoever... unlike CT !! And working in a wider range of products now... being in Master collection !! :)

Dude... hmm thats avinash on this time... very little to do.. nothing excites in CT any more for this tech freak who is always into gaming and linuxing... Good that Director team has come up next to CT Team... and he has also expressed his interest to work for 3D Stuff in director and he will be moving out of the team... Irony... One more perl guy with lots of interest to change the things in CT has decided to move out of this universe... nevertheless he will be closeby :) A good sidee for any one !! Coming May he will be completing his two year cycle @ adobe and thats the right time for him to step into 3D Director !!

Freddy bought lots of fun and smile to the team.. cant believe that he has also decided to step out of this fun land.. Reason being personal problems !! hope it doesnt take away his liking for adobe ... opportunities are plenty and u dont miss just bcoz u quit one and join another.. where ever u are.. you can still be one more freddy and enlighten the team with fun and joy... Mysore trip with freddy and susoma is always un-forgettable... will miss u fred.. all the best in chennai

One more Happy Weekend Ends !!

          Finally off my regular traditional office work!! Finally been to koramangala to anniah, malli .. left out bitsian friends in bangalore off those who went on to pursue their higher education couple of years back... Missed chillu due to a hectic work the other day... nyways, this time it was more fun... The good old days of B.E. 3rd year, 4th year latcha sessions revamped with malli who packed his bags to start in a week or so to his onsite assignment at NY. Two years passed in bangalore like two months... time goes on... never stops for any one.. off late at 12:30 annaih woke up finally to the tunes of our loud TV Volume!! haha... Started on an informal "Lets see who will win" in carroms... anniah took me off 29-0 and then i won the second... time to cook chicken now... yummy... roti with chicken... and then again carroms.. latcha sessions.. his new 80G ipod from KS... Then evening was little different... Went to Ganesh Dharshan in Jayanagar 4th block... Most popular for Dosa's !! and then to colorful juice junction and then to Cornor house to grab Brown Bomb, Fruit salad with ice cream and cream, vanilla with strawberry sauce...  :) then back to koramanga at 11 pm... started with Woh Lamhe.. in my mac-book-pro...anniah wanted to hv a breezer at 2'o Clock in the night... heh.. his passion for rock music is growing day by day and he buys an ear phones of sony in GKVale for just 1300Rs. he says iPod ear phones sucks !! well thats the hights of the music clarity he wants... Had a breezer too and myself and uttam spoke about bits life bla bla bla... again, the good old latcha sessions... be it any one.. life @ bits is un-forgettable (not just for me but for every one... !! believe it or not... ) The day ended at 4 am in the morning... and then we slept off... i came back to home in the morning... went for breakfast... egg curry with dosa !! yummy ... and a long day sleep with a relaxing mind to kick off for regular work week ahead..
