Going To Gym
This word has been really buzzing word for me, since i stood on the line with a paper form and a passphoto attached to it, in my Second year first semester of my College, Bits Pilani. Gym was very sophisticated on campus with a trainer and good enough equipment. Bits organizes BOSM a national sports gathering, Gym is well known for Sharon and an ME-ite who are the gaint weight-lifters.. they always win Gold medals for bits atleast here. After joining gym, most of us go for first few days very regularly.. Same thing happened with me.. i was very regular for nearly two months... it was a really good experience. Well, that enthusiasm didnt last long.. i quit gym due to time constraints and never got back the same time again after entering into my CDC's.
This time it is bangalore.. Srinath (my roommate and bitsian jr.) and myself went to an indian Gym near by home for about two months... it was one of the finest of the times i have went to gym... Adobe, the company i work for in bangalore
has announced its corporate deal offer for its employees. Well the enthusiasm rejuvinated again after 6 years and this time... my sweet team went along... Avinash, lakwinder, Myself, Freddy. Fitness one is more professional gym rather than any other normal gym. To Begin with, we had to book an appointment for "Physio" and "Nutrition". Physio will check your eligibility for "What to do, how to do" based on your health conditions. My Physio was an exciting, shocking, surprising, enthusiasing @ koramangala. After that I had my cardio test.. We didnt go to Koramangala gym for long time due to Hunter release. One day myself and freddy went and got our cards transferred to Jayanagar branch.. We went to jayanagar branch consistently for 8 days.. after then, we discontinued. Now can you guess how long we discontinued?? Around 4-5 months. I am back to gym since last 15 days. Getting up from bed at 6'0 clock has become a real routine for me. I am enjoying it with my trainers helping me a lot..

Working for your Career in SW Industry, First few years...
For an Engineering Grad who typically joins a SW industry either picked up from campus or a job searched through your friends... I feel it is very important to choose yourself the "Domain" you would like to make a mark into. Being a fresher you wouldnt have much knowledge of what a domain is, is it good for me... what will be my future if i stick to this domain, how is the current market for this domain etc. Most of the time, the SW learning aspiration comes from the friends you have around you...
Most important thing for an individual joining any role in a SW industry is - "Work for your job as if it were your last day in the company that doesnt mean you should leave the company for stupid reasons :D, keep your learning curve growing and constant.. Try to explore more things, keep moving forward, learn from your team members who do different things, spend some of your time in learning the technologies that will support you for your domain... Rush fast, never find yourself loosing the pace on the technology you like and you are working on. You work for the company because they pay you and the rest is common among other MNCs as well (to the large extent but it differs too).. This is very important for you to note that at any point of time, you should be ready to sell yourself in the market... you should not come back and say, oh no.. i was busy with my other works @ job and i didnt find time for this.. that.. etc."..
Dont loose the meaning of life while doing all this, please do this and you will realise down the line after say 3-5 years, you can move very confidently.. you can sell yourself very confidently...

What do you look at when you see a girl ?
initially joined Osmania University College of Engineering for my Engineering. Well, i guess some of us know that there are always somethings that need to be sensored while putting it outside... no wonder, seniors and ragging sessions are meant to be giving them fun and blast with the juniors... and no guy wants to tell it outside.. Typically what do guys look in a girl? Be it Forum mall or Bangalore Central or Inox or Brigade or your good old college... The girls face, her dress and overall attire.... Why is it obvious that gilrs take a longer time in "Getting Ready" to go out.. be it college, work, shopping or just like that... hmm.. they want to look good for many reasons.. now let me cross question? What do girls look when they look at guys? The way guys dress up? Their hair style? Shoe? I dont know - May be girls should know :) Anyways, The mentor of Communication training pointed this out.. When you talk to a female gender where do you have to look at her? He told, typically female gender will feel very conscious when you look at them for little more time... So he suggested, looking at her face... near around her Bindi or top of her hair is a better way.. sometimes fluctuating your eyes from her forehead to hair is what he said is OKAY... He told, some female gender wont like the guy looking into her eyes and talking to her if the time constraint is more... well, Gautam Bhagra had a question here: Wont females feel uncomfortable when you look at her hair :) i mean where are you looking at ?? haha.. he was more concerned :) hahah... Either ways, i feel certain thing depend on the time and situation and the girl / female you are looking at... A female wearing modern fashion dress walking some where will be "The target" for many guys for whatsoever reasons which even the female would have known already but thats "LIFE"....

Can you re-order it ?
| Choice of Words | ? |
| Vocal Strength ((like pitch, sound, quality, strength etc) | ? |
| Body Language of the person | ? |
I initially gave the answer, Equally. But when i was asked to tell me another answer where "Equally" may not work, then i choose First Choice of Words, then Body language and then vocal strength. Others in the training argued on why it should be that way, why not Body Language and then vocal strength and then choice of words.
In My opinion, I feel the right choice of words is very important when we are communicating. They form the heart of your communication. Without the right words you cannot articulate what you want to convey.. I would like the facial expressions and the body language of the person to fall next because, a person sitting in a chair raising his foot on the table and talking to you using right choice of words still makes you upset. The vocal strength is last but definately not the least.
What do you feel which is right? A Survey in US has told that Choice of words = 7%, Vocal Strength=38%, Body language = 55%. No wonder, the mentor explained that English is mother tongue for all US individuals and for them it is very obvious that they will use right words while communicating. So this ratio might differ in india where most of us in some situations try to think in our mother tongue in mind and then try to translate...

What is important in Communication?
Yesterday i went early to office to attend - "Two sides of Effective communication" training. Mr. Chandresh is an IIM-A Grad passout in 1982 (when i was born)... Chandresh is a gujju and he initially worked with Smithklime Beechem for about 11 years and now he runs his own HR Consulting firm which handles training to corporates professionals. There was a lot of initial hype created with-in the team by either manager or others about the course, no wonder the cost of the course is pretty huge and the cost center has to bear it... 400$ It was a 3 and half hour training session where all the participants are provided with some material copies. Of the 18 people only 10 people attended the training i.e., the rest 8 people's loss of 400$x8 = 32,000$ will be penalised on adobe. Thats the sad part. The training started with every one providing a brief introduction about themselves. There was a variety of mix of people in the room with people having an experience of 2 months in adobe to 3 years in adobe.
It finally started. Chandresh started explaining some points which i guess every one would know but its more of rephrasing. How to effectively communicate? How to listen to the communicator patiently? What are the signs of dis-interest shown by the listener? Listerner can choose to either NOT hear the communicator and avoids the person or sometimes the topic is not of so much interest to him. Then he started with the word - "Empathy".. Empathy is being aware of the other persons emotions and feelings. Please note that when u are communicating you dont necessarily need to agree on the other persons views or emotions but you can just understand the emotions and be aware of. Certain other words were also explained which were more or less all of us know. Later we were given some situations to do Role-Play. Arguments discussions, overall it was like - Half an hour of trying to rephrase things that you are aware of and the rest, is assignments...

LKG to 10th classmate... Friends forever..
The guy you are seeing on my right - Name : B. Naveen Kumar Working : Programmer Analyst, Wipro India. Schooling : Sri Santhosh School, Bhongir +2 : Nalanda Jr. College Engineering : B.E. ECE M.Tech from SRM College Chennai... | ![]() |
Son of a very popular person in bhongir - Dr. Dhargiah (Ph.d) in Botony, Professor SLNS College, Bhongir, This guy has always found it difficult when he tries hard to name himself as Naveen and not "Son of Dhargiah" when doing mis-cheifs. Class VIII, Class IX - have been one of the best times of my life when we three used to concur most of the happenings either in class or in school. We three are myself, Naveen and Raghu.
Raghu @ Raghuver Reddy @ langamma @ lot more... you must be laughing now..
yes he is a guy who always tries to be serious most of the time but always falls to the trap of Mahesh and others pulling him. He had a crazy habbit of picking up things on the road for what-s0-ever reason... lots of names evolved from there :) mischiefs apart, we there were like three best buddies.. Kho-Kho was one of the cool games played in our leisure period when our PET used to take us out... We three used to be the first three people and we used to occupy most of the 9 minutes time... This chap has move to Hyderabad after his dad got transferred in his class x. We missed him a lot. He then finished his B.E from a college in Hyd and moved to US for his MS. He is now done with his MS and working in Stanford as labs on some projects.. Gone were those days when myself and naveen struggled so hard, going to Padharaju Hanmantharao School for Coaching for Class X. Those days were really great. With a very little opportunity where teachers used to teach very casually at school, it was real tough atleast for me to cope up with my +2 college at Hyderabad. After then things changed for me and i managed to get a seat in BITS for my engg. Naveen struggled in life for sometime and then his M.Tech changed his life.. He is happy with his wipro. He pushed his brother (who is currently in US trying to complete higher studies after completeing MBBS) back and liked the girl just by looking at the photos initially... This chap has tried real hard initially to avoid marriage at an early age of 25 ! He couldnt stop himself seeing the girl, in his final year after having an offer with Wipro... and you can see how fast he went on now.. he has a lovely kid - Harshitha recently born... Well things changed, but friend-ship never changed. We interact, meet each other, freakout... Its rejoicing when you have a friend whom you know from the beginning and you still continue to...
