Got Hurt ?

         Did you just got hurt? Or ever got hurt? I got hurt many times... but yeah, we move on. I was hurt when i joined macromedia and i had to get started on the work which i didnt know and i had so much pressure on me for the expectations they had on me.  I was hurt when i filled up my BITS application form wrongly once and lost opportunity to get-in at the first semester... I was hurt when i knew i lost my USA - ATE PS opportunity for an year due to one of my professor... What if you get hurt due to actions of some-one whom you think is close to you and you trust the person so much? The pain you will have will be more... What is Trust? Its an opinion on a person one has. What is hatred? Its also an opinion on a person one has. Its very hard to become yourself trusted by some one but it takes just a while to hate a person. I was wondering what could be the reasons... I found a few... Understanding the person wrongly due to some misconception or some-one telling it to you wrongly? Anger? Anger kills your human-ness in a whisker and turns you devil. I always believe, When you like a person and talk to him, how many ever mistakes the other person does, since you like him, you will just correct him and ignore those mistakes. Thats the power of "liking".... It holds all these under one umbrella. But human-attitude has a strange problem. When you get angry, all the power that "liking" had will go in vain in a minute. In a minute, when you are angry on other person, you start re-collecting all the hidden under the umbrella of like things and post them to the person.. you shout at them.. you dig all those hidden things that you stored in you tell it then and there thinking "what the hell who cares".... Some people are really smart. They say that, i dont keep anything in my heart, i am very straight-forward.... whatever i feel i tell it all out-side... bhayya, kya cinema story chal raha hein kya... kat le... Every one is the same. But to a major extent it depends on the situation and the person whom you are dealing with. Recently, i heard from one of the person who trusts me so much that i had been the reason for some disaster mechanisms. I was shocked. At that position, if you have not done the disaster, you dont have a proof to show. How do you convince the person that its not just me, its not just me...  Its just a matter of a second... Once a person feels something bad about another person in his mind, whatever be the case, the hatred will continue to stay in the corner of mind for-ever. Imagine if you were in the position of getting hated by some one whom u thought trust u the most.

Declaring in AS..

  For a java guy like me, declaring/initializing an object instance variable is always as below:

      ObjectName obj = new ObjectName();

And in AS (Action Script), i tend to write the similar thing again and again until my compiler warns me... Abbeyyy kya kar raha hein...

      OLAPCube cube = new OLAPCube(); // Wrong syntax.. which i write over and over...
      var cube:OLAPCube = new OLAPCube(); // Correct one

Hope i remember that i am in AS now until my HIMA starts off before i scrub off OLAP API Pass..

'L' Board

I dont remember wearing the "L" board atleast while learning bike... Stepped into RIA world and i can clearly make out myself how biggest "L" board i am carrying on my head. Flex is an ocean.. recently evolved but AS has been bread and butter for a lot of Flash designers and developers. Haven't started learning either Flex or Action Script (AS)... but directly into one of the Flex component as i wrote before OLAP. On top of this, the related technologies are lined up for me to learn them... Ajax, Apollo (AIR), javaFX, Silver light, oracle RIAs... Got my perforce account setup from Cathy. My stupid blakie laptop has become prune to the yuk blue screens on top of this the Disk Hard disk encryption software that doesnt let my system start when power cable is plugged in... Raghu, Harish (@vodka), prayank are some punters of the team who majorly get involved in evangelising about flex in india. They go and speak about their product on various topics. Having worked in contribute, no wonder we never had this opportunity though. But then the product itself was so dicey what can you extract out of it.. I have to plan my schedule to start learning from scratch out of my regular schedules. Well, to climb to the next step you always have to be self planning especially when you dont know the basics and bearning an L board and jumping into the component then and there... Applies to all 'L' boardians, but yeah.. the fruits of the learnings will be really satisfactory...

Training..

This is not a typical apple-evangelists training @ adobe where the audience sleep after the lunch session. This time it is Flex training for Wipro employees @ Java Stream technologies, Koramangala 5th block. Prayank and Harish were the trainers, myself and satish were the silent listeners along with the rest of wipro junta. It started at 10 am and went on till 6pm.. It was very interesting from the beginning, first time into the RIA world.. Action scripting, power of flex, flex and ajax bridge, air, sample open source flex apps, custom components from mxml, from as, and basics were covered... it was good.. the audience were not as with high-IQ as expected... most of them took lot of time to understand simple stuff so it was a slow moving class where lots of stuff like webservices, adg etc were skipped. Overall, it was a fruitful one for a first entrant of flex to start off with. I am told to start on OLAP datagrids which already ajit and sam are working on... I am just trying to understand and write small flex apps on OLAP now.. OLAP is typically called for a multi-dimensional database, and parsing, connecting, hookingup and data representation in grids is all OLAP datagrid.. let me see how much i can start on it..

Pack my bags.....

     Finally the D'day has come to pack my bags from the Contribute team and move forward. I really had a very tiring and frustrating journey of my two days PTO along with a week-end. Sick those govt. employees who like the taste of bribe.. Atleast i got all my documents done for the house loan... huh... finally, i am ready to go and ask for home loan... I had to pack my stuff for the new team @ 1st floor... As usual, lots of junk.. throw it away... rest... grab it and organize it...

   

   You will notice on your right, a carton of my stuff, my show-piece baski ball, my heavy xeon workstation (didnt get a way to get rid of this winding machine making lots of noise as yet), monitor, my water bottle (that i never use)... My cube still has the junk of papers that i am yet to dispose.. now its no more my cube... Out of contribute officially...

Manchanaballi Trip...

It was an unplanned trip... KS had his cousins car with him and thanks to Fayaz and KS who know driving properly... We started at 6am... Had breakfast at KAMAT (popular restaurant on the mysore road)... We crossed Rama Nagar and from Rama Nagar busstand, we have to take right and go inside about 10kms to see Manchanaballe... There is a millitary camp there... Pleasent climante that cant stop you from just loving it... There is a lake... We got down to the lake.. did some trekking... and some shooting.. then some masti...

  

And lot more masti...  The place was really amazing for nature lovers especially in that very light drilling atmosphere...

Go Karting - Mysore Road

On the Mysore Road from Bangalore, Next to Rajeshwari Hospital before Wonderla, you will see Go Karting. This is the first experience of riding a likely (no way likely :)) a F1 race :) People who dont know car driving will enjoy this the most. Below you will see the photos of Go-Karting... 6 Laps per person would cost 100 bucks.. but if this is your first experience, you must go for it.. its really amazing...




The First experience was really thrilling... I didnt know how to drive this... The person there helps you understand it first... You will wear a helmet. After you are seated, on your left you will see a steel one to keep leg (thats your brake) and on your right is the accelarator. Stearing is pretty hard.. I was the first person to start the race and slowly i ended up the last :) Funny part was, your mind should be concious of the stearing, brake and accelarator... towards the curve, you will remember to rotate the stearing, and then apply brake first and then accelerate... If this is the first time then there are chances that you will forget to press brake instead you will accelarate :) There was a 'un-happy' incident that took place that day where anniah drove over the person who flags for you and went and straight hit the other vehicle standing... and it bent the back protection layer and broke the iron rod due to severe speed... Finally we ended up taking the person to hospital for minor injection and paying 1000 bucks for the repair of the vehicle.. over all, it was a different experience off your regular routine schedules... its amazing feeling. Big Banyan Tree - Bangalore

Myself, Fayaz, KS and anniah started at 6am for a trip on a sunday morning to Manchanaballe, a place about 80kms from bangalore. But Big Banyan Tree is much before that. Below you will see pictures of the Big Banyan Tree... I would say its not the best place to go for.. yeah you can spend about an hour at the place...otherwise its all hyped.

Trumps

Remember those psenti sem days in the new wing of Ashok bhawan... We are all psenti semites on campus... my wingies... Trumps is a cards game... very interesting game.. Paagi (new name for fayaz given by KS), KSLP, anniah and me started for dinner at CMH road, shalimar... Yummy Biryanis ;) Back at 11pm to home, we went to barista for cappuccino.. We started the Trumps at 12 in the night... 4 of us, two of us sitting opposite to each other are partners. 52 cards in a pack, shuffle them properly.... Start the distribution of cards from person say A. Distribute all 52, 13 each. Person A, looks at his cards. He has to tell what symbol will form a trump for that round. Ultimate aim of the game is that - You and your partner should try your best to grab maximum number of cards after we start the game. Person A should start the game by putting a card in front and the rest of them should try to put a bigger card value in that same symbol (say if person A drops a card say A-Dice then thats the highest card.. others should also put a card each in dice... Next if he keeps a 5 Spade, then others should try to put the maximum card available so that they win that round..) If the base card is 'hearts' and you dont have 'hearts' with you at that time, then its an opportunity for you to drop a trump symbol card and then 'cut it' then its all yours irrespective of an 'A' hearts as a base card. But always remember, if you have the symbol of the base card, you MUST put the base card always. Game scores are calculated. Spade=8, Hearts=6, Diamonds (dice)=4, clubs=2. There are thirteen sets, assuming your team wins 8 Sets and the opponents will win 5 sets. Take the difference 8-5=3. Points=(Difference)*(Symbol Value Count) = 3*6=18. Since you won maximum sets you will get these points to you and your partner groups name. You can set a game for say 200 points or so. You can tell 'all trumps' as well where you dont have any trump name.. any card you keep at the base will be the trump card... this is for sure an awesome game if you love it. We played this game till 3 in the night, until the scores were me and paaji = 509 and KS and annai = 360. Lovely game, if you are four people...
