This time, on my laptop....

Club Cabana

Oh yes... I got a call at 9.45 pm... Its "srinath calling..".... (my roomate workin for oracle bangalore)... He got extra coupon for their Prestige Lexington ST (Server Technology) Team outing to club cabana... do you want to join us??? hmm... i said yes.. Saturday.... lets have some nice time...

• We started at 8am... Its Company Bus... Started at 8:45 am
• We reached Club Cabana at 10:30 am..
• Welcomed with a dotted red colored band on our hands (similar to the one we got in ZeroG)
• Looked at the list of things to do for the day...
• Bowling (Three places.. and a huge cue already)...
• We went and got our Red band tied on our hand for Water games...
• All set... Oh yes.. we began with "Paint Ball game"... For those who dont know about this.. its like a war. Two teams of 7 people each will be given Blue and Red jerkins to wear. All will be given a helmet to cover the face and a Gun which contains plastic sort of bullets that are filled with Paint (different colors).. Think of it like a Foot-ball game. Both teams will have a small "Cap" kept (a treasure that you have to protect from the opponent to pick it up and take it to his kingdom).. Your team should protect your cap and vice versa. Your aim should be to get the cap from the other team to your kingdom.. There are some obstacles kept on the field on which you should hide. You should shoot the opponents as you see them and advance to get the cap of other team. There will be two refrees who will tell you if you are out and you need to get up and walk out.. It was an awesome thrilling start for a fabulous day..
• Done paint ball game.. Next an adventure sport... a rop tied to the top of a ceiling.. you will have to climb up the rope using that.. (sort of treck using the rope)... After that, Started off with Tidal wave (waves)... grab a tube and jump in (i donno swimming)... keep enjoying the raising waves of the tidal wave.. aweeeeeeee !! awesome :) And the waves are there every half an hour through out...
• After the waves, time for lunch...
• Nice yummy dishes... couldnt resist my diet control... but yeah was careful ...
• Heavy lunch and heavy dessert... feel like sleeping now... Yes.. "Lazy River" is the place to go... Got a tube again, slept on it and the lazy river is all for you.. yipee .. had great time...
• Then comes "Jacooosee"... Small pond sorta in which water pressure comes from few portions which thrill you when you go close to them or put leg on the pressure :)
• Then comes water-rides.... Climb up... lay down... woooooooooooooohoooooo... the wonderla sort of water rides... The difficult part was after we are done with the thrilling ride, the landing portion is slightly deeper so you will take a plunge the moment you land :) so non-swimmers be careful... i was !!
• Once again Waves now.. for the final time... gone till the edge of the portion from where waves generate... wohooo awesome feeling...
• Done with all the thrillings... Its high-tea time. had snacks and started for "Badminton"...
• wow we played some two games and we started to look for bus to come back.. it was 5:30 pm already..
• A little time left and i found basket-ball there with nets... oohoo... bits days splashed me .. i started throwing the ball to the basket for three pointers !! (alas.. Ravi taught me how to do this those days...)

It was a great thrilling experience for the whole day...  Note, paint ball and adventure sports are only conducted by oracle and not by club-cabana resorts !!

600 Crores... less or more for a temple...

          My post about the Golden temple in vellore has got a lot of traction in the form of comments. Many feel its not a lot of money to what would be an outcome of the hefty amount spend on the temple... People tend to feel that it would bring a lot of prosperity to individuals in the state, especially vellore....  Yuvraj singh hitting 6 sixes in 6 balls fetched him 1 crore Rupees. 100 lakhs....True thats a lot... 600 lakhs is definately a lot... Yes, every one agree... i am not able to find any photos of that temple so far... i would love to visit the place too...  sometimes, wondering where did this money come from? Charity? funds for temple construction from the government? donations from the people for the temple? Can the funds generated from this be used to serve the nation which has a lot more people in the poverty line?

Flex Builder Linux - Revealed !!

Its been an effort worth it... A Thrilling experience and its now Flex Builder for Linux... Announced at MAX 07 and is available for download via Adobe Labs... Its built out of the features of Flex Builder 3 on windows, eliminating some of the features in it. Note that this is only the Public Alpha release of the product. As it proceeds towards its release, you will see all your favourite missing features added on and on... Its been a thrilling experience being part of making of the product from the day 1 of planning till it is announced in MAX

I shall dig more into this as i speak on my tech blog... Pretty happy for the alpha release which has never been so much a high quality to be called alpha... Looking forward to a major enhancements going forward to keep it rocking......

Huh !! Get going...

huh... it was a long time since i filled ink in my pen to write again... I wouldnt say i have been busy (though thats implied) but i have been a lazy bum... I happened to be part of the lovely flex team who planned for a full-day team outing at Eagleton Resorts... Need i say more !! This was the first ever full-day-resort-team outing since i joined macromedia two years ago (Yes, i did complete two years on September 5th, 2007)... It was a team of around 24 people and we all started from office at 10 am... Reached eagleton at around past 11 and straight away started with a 12-12 (similar to 20-20) cricket match... it was a thrilling experience when the match was a real close with we batting first scored 78 and the other team had to score 12 balls, 12 runs... and we won the match clinching it with a 5 runs victory !! :) Then we headed for a heavy heavy lunch... awesome dishes... straight to Badminton court playing doubles with me and kishan, annam and raghu... interchanging ourselves again.. then volley ball... and then foose-ball (pretty thrilling experience)... hands on squash as well... a cake cutting ceremony... A thrilling cycling adventure towards the hill and a small temple... on the way back, we went to ananth's home... explored his huge plasma home theater... wow.. the next day, was really great... every one had some or the other pain in their body... good, time healed all... Past couple of days, i was working on developing an application which hopefully can come out well for linux junta using flex builder.. lets wait and see... I have had some serious problems with my health again (did i not watch my rasi phal last time !! i must say my shani is doing terribly bad.... ) came out of the hassle and now doing fine though... so i am all getting started yet again...
